Events held in 2007

Events held during Enterprise Week 2007 were organised around national themes. These included:

Make Your Mark Challenge:

suitcaseThis is Enterprise Week's flagship activity. And it's set to be huge! It will run in multiple environments - including schools, Further Education Colleges and possibly also in Universities, all at the same time and using the same core challenge. The Make Your Mark Challenge will:

  • Inspire tons of creative and innovative thinking and action
  • Encourage a can-do attitude
  • Enhance problem solving skills
  • Develop oral communications
  • Promote team work

The initial one-day 'mass engagement stage' will be on Monday 12th November 2007 when the challenge is revealed online at 9.00am. Register now at www.makeyourmarkchallenge.org for your information pack. Come on, challenge yourselves and get involved!

Women's Enterprise Day:

Young Start South WestThis day aims to close the gap still existing between men and women in the world of work.

"Generally, men are much more positive about their skills, more likely to perceive opportunities, and twice as likely to start up a new business as women." GEM 2005.

We're working to encourage young women to be more enterprising all year round, using Women's Enterprise Day as a means to nationally showcase women's achievements and inspire others to follow their lead.

Social Enterprise Day:

An increasingly high profile issue, social enterprise is engaging large numbers of young people, politicians and the media. Led by the Social Enterprise Coalition, together with the Social Enterprise Unit of the Cabinet Office and Enterprise Insight, Social Enterprise Day will see a focus on all social, environmental and community enterprises in 2007.

Make Your Mark at Work

Young Start South WestMake Your Mark at Work is a celebration of all the fantastic ideas generated by employees, and about encouraging them to be even more creative and innovative. Those that nurture and encourage their employees to come up with ideas and make them happen are great places to work, attract and retain employees, deliver superior performance and continually evolve.
